Q: Why is your tuition cost so low? -Because we care! There is no reason to over inflate tuition rates and take advantage of God's people. We are here to help you succeed and to keep education affordable to all. And, because we are primarily an online college, we are able to save on our overhead experiences.
Q: Is New York Christian College an accredited college? Yes, we are accredited by the Accreditation Commission of America. The ACA is a private accreditation commission and is not affiliated with the state or the Government. In fact, the ACA strongly observes the separation between church and state and chooses to grant Christian based schools and Colleges accreditation. Please visit the ACA's official website for more information.
Q: Will my job except my college degree from NYCBC? NYCBC is accredited by a private commission, some (but not all) jobs may require degrees with a specific accreditation, such as Middle State Accreditation. If you will be using this degree for the advancement on any job, contact that establishment and inquire before perusing your education with NYCBC.
Q: Can I transfer my credits to another college? Every institution is different and abide by their own regulations, in short, some may accept NYCBC's credits and some may not. If you are planning on transferring your credits to another school, please contact and inquire of that institution before moving forward.
Q: Can I transfer credits from another college to NYCBC? Absolutely, we will accept any credits from any school as long as that school has proven accreditation.
Q: What is your grading system? We do not subscribe to a number or letter grading systemsuch as “A+ or 95”; your exams, essays and thesis are graded as pass or fail. The same scale of Pass / Fail or Completed, will reflect on your transcripts as well. However, if you do receive a failing grade, we will let you know why you received the failing grade and give you as many chances as you need to complete and pass your lesson.
Q: How long will it take me to graduate? The time frame to graduate varies from one student to the next. Some students are more aggressive than others in terms of study hours. The time frame could span from 18 months to four years. This is truly a "work at your own pace", program and you are in complete control at all times. You can move as fast or a slowly as you please.
Q: Do you offer "Life Experience Degrees"? - Absolutely not! Historically, such degrees are viewed by some as deceitful and unethical. We do not participate in deceitful or unethical practices.
Q: Do you give credit towards my degree for my life experience? Yes. For example, if you are a Pastor, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, Ordained Minister or have any other ministry experience, please let us know. There is value in your experience and we can help fast track you according to that experience. However, as earlier stated, we DO NOT offer "Life Experience" degrees. Therefor no matter how much "life experience" an individual has, all students who register with NYCBC must participate in or curriculum program on some level.
Q: Will I need a proctor at some point during my studies? Not for the BA or MA programs, but you may need a proctor for the Doctoral program.
Q: I don't have an AA or AS degree, can I earn my BS without it? Yes, our Bachelor's degrees cover the associates portion of study as well.
Q: I don't have a BS or a BA, can I study for my MS degree? That depends on your life experience. For example, if you've been a pastor for 8 - 10 years or more, in an established church (of brick and mortar), who serves an actual congregation, we may be able to fast track your studies.
Q: What if I pay my tuition and I change my mind about studying at NYCBC, can I have my money refunded? No. Because of our extremely low tuition cost, we are unable to refund payments for any reason. We ask that you give good consideration before choosing NYCBC, as we do not give refunds for any reason.
Q: Will I receive a diploma with NYCBC's college seal? Yes, you will receive our beautiful degree with our college seal. Our traditional college degrees are printed on high quality paper and arrive frame ready.
Q: What if I get stuck and need help during my studies? Don't panic, we will help you as often as you need it. Just email us your questions, and someone will contact you, normally within 20 - 30 minutes, during normal business hours (eastern standard time).
